This month marks the 39th anniversary that British comedy made its U.S. debut 鈥
四虎影院-TV, Channel 13, to air the British comedy series 鈥淢onty Python鈥檚 Flying Circus.鈥 In 1975, cast members Graham Chapman, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam appeared live in the 四虎影院 studios in a three-hour Monty Python extravaganza.

British comedies soon became an important part of public TV schedules across the country. 四虎影院 13 airs several of them:
- 鈥淵es, Minister鈥 is on at 11 p.m. Saturday, while 鈥溾楢llo 鈥楢llo!鈥 follows at 11:30 p.m. 鈥淢r. Bean鈥 airs at midnight and 12:30 a.m.
- And on Sundays, there鈥檚 鈥淎s Time Goes By鈥 at 10 p.m., 鈥淜eeping Up Appearances鈥 at 10:30 p.m. (鈥淎ppearances鈥 is one of my favorites.) 鈥淭he Caf茅鈥 is at 11 p.m., followed by 鈥淥pen All Hours鈥 at 11:30 p.m. 鈥淢iranda鈥 airs at midnight, followed by 鈥淩ed Dwarf鈥 at 12:30 a.m.
