The TSA security checkpoints at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in loose change left behind by travelers in fiscal year 2018.
That means the airport ranks sixth in the nation for money found at checkpoints. DFW trailed Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles.
Passengers at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York left behind the most change at $72,392.
Overall, almost $1 million was left behind at airports throughout the country, an almost 11 percent increase compared to fiscal year 2017.
The TSA plans to use the abandoned money towards "checkpoint training."
