Republican State Representative Morgan Meyer and Democratic challenger Joanna Cattanach played a game of tug a war Tuesday night for a chance to represent Texas House District 108, which stretches from Downtown Dallas north through University Park.
As of Wednesday morning, Cattanach conceded the race to Meyer in a Twitter post. Cattanach had 48% of the votes while Meyer carried 49.7% with a 1,600-vote lead.

Later Wednesday, Meyer celebrated his win on Twitter: "Thank you for the vote of confidence & for demonstrating that voters are hungry for positive campaigns focused on issues & a vision for the future."

The candidates have faced off before in a close race. In 2018, Meyer was reelected by just over 200 votes.
