One of the largest pride events in North Texas won’t return to the city unless LGBTQ protections are reinstated, organizers said.

The decision came after more than 50 people addressed the council, all but 11 of them in support of reinstating the ordinance.

Arlington will vote Dec. 9 on reinstating its suspended anti-discrimination ordinance after months of debate, with several council members signaling support amid concerns over federal funding and enforcement.

Now, the vote to restore the ordinance is slated to be taken on Dec. 9.
