More than 20 athletes from the region will compete on Team USA in this year's Olympics.

Krum鈥檚 Jenna Reneau was one of 30 referees selected to officiate the Olympic men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 basketball games.

The five-time International Basketball Federation gold medalist will take the court for Team USA in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, with the opening ceremony this Friday. It鈥檚 a 鈥渟urreal moment鈥� made real by the support of her family and coaches, Van Lith said.

The 16-year-old who trained at World Olympic Gymnastics Academy earned her way onto the five-person squad by finishing a strong fifth in the all-around at the U.S. Olympic trials.

Dallas' Sha鈥機arri Richardson earned her spot in the Paris Olympics, winning the 100-meter final in a season-best 10.71 seconds at U.S. track trials. Her win in the final came by a margin of .09 seconds over training partner Melissa Jefferson, the 2022 U.S. champion.
