The Texas Education Agency released Spring 2026 STAAR end-of-course exam scores Wednesday across different grades and five different subjects. The results show academic progress in North Texas and statewide, but some scores remain below pre-COVID 19 levels. 鈥�

A bill to end Texas鈥� state-mandate STAAR test is headed for Gov. Greg Abbott鈥檚 desk. House Bill 8 replaces the year-end assessment with three shorter tests, but critics say that only increases the burden on students.
