The storm, which is expected to bring its heaviest downpours on Tuesday, could bring flash flooding to Southeast Texas. Though meteorologists currently predict rain to be a greater concern than wind, it has now developed into a tropical storm.

The easternmost counties of North Texas will see the most rain as Tropical Storm Beryl passes through the state. Beryl weakened after it hit land as a hurricane Monday.

The first named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season has arrived. Tropical Storm Alberto is heading west towards Mexico, bringing heavy rains, coastal flooding and possible hurricanes to Texas.
