No matter which way delegates vote this week on banning gay members, a local leader says troops may be impacted.
We caught up with Cubmaster James Maddux at the Rangers game Sunday during Boy Scouts of America weekend.
He says if the ban on gay members is lifted, some troops might find themselves without a sponsor.
"It's going to be very interesting, if it does vote that they are going to allow that, how that's going to work with the charter organizations," Maddux says. "What happens if you have a charter organization that says, 'absolutely not?' Then you could have some scout groups have to find new, new homes, basically."
Churches, PTAs and service clubs usually charter scout groups.
The vote is expected to happen Thursday during the National Annual Meeting. That event starts today in Irving.
