Update, 6:54 p.m. Monday: Five passengers and three flight attendants were being treated for injuries, . That contradicts an early statement by the FAA that no one was hurt.
The Dallas-based airline also said that the plane, a Boeing 737-700, had its nose gear collapse upon landing at 5:40 p.m. Eastern time.
Update, 5:53 p.m.: Southwest confirming that Flight 345 from Nashville has been evacuated in New York.
Original post: A Southwest Airlines plane lost a wheel Monday on the tarmac at New York's LaGuardia airport. A Federal Aviation Administration told CNN that no one was hurt.
Former Dallas City Council candidate Bobby Abtahi saw the incident while he was waiting for an American Airlines flight back to Dallas. He tweeted out a photo and video with the comment "Southwest plane with wheel that just came off. Unbelievable."
