- The wintry mix has already claimed the lives of several people, including a Dallas firefighter. William Scott Tanksley after slipping off of an icy overpass. He was responding to a wreck on the Spur 408 bridge when he fell onto Interstate 20.
- The In-Sync Wildlife Rescue Center has taken in new cats for the first time since an last summer killed seven animals at the shelter. In-Sync founder and owner Vicky Keahey told the Dallas Morning News that summer had been rough. 鈥淚 lost the love of my life,鈥� she said, referring to the first cat she rescued at the shelter, which was one of the last victims of distemper, 鈥淓very time we thought we were getting through it, something else happened.鈥�
- DFW Airport officially unveiled its new automated passport kiosks yesterday, which promise to cut to down on long customs lines for folks coming back into the country. Martha Young, a passenger who opted to use the kiosk, told that the entire process took less than a minute.
- High schoolers will show that scrap material can be beautiful at the Mary Tomas Gallery. The exhibit will feature the winning metal sculptures from sculpture students at Booker T. Washington School for the Performing and Visual Arts. The show runs through Saturday.
