A 1,000-pound steer was captured Monday after briefly escaping captivity at the State Fair of Texas.
The 1-year-old animal led police and fair officials on a short chase around 3 p.m. before it was finally corralled.
A fair official says the steer was being bathed in a barn when a loud noise startled it. Dallas police officers and animal handlers chased the young steer while warning fairgoers to keep a safe distance.
The chase lasted about 10 minutes.
that two people were injured, but not seriously.
The steer belongs to a 13-year-old from Central Texas who brought the animal to show at the fair.
