The U.S. Supreme Court will hold a private conference today to consider whether to hear cases on abortion laws in Texas and Mississippi. The case in Texas involves a 2013 law that requires a physician who performs an abortion to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of the procedure.

That law also requires abortion clinics to meet standards set for ambulatory surgical centers.

reports if the Supreme Court accepts one or both of these cases, the legal climax could come amid the 2016 presidential campaign.
