The top local stories this morning from the ĻӰԺroom: Tonya Couch, the mother of the “affluenza fugitive” Ethan Couch, posted bond last night and will walk out of a jail today with a GPS monitor.
A judge in Fort Worth yesterday reduced bond for Tonya Couch from $1 million to $75,000.
Once she’s out of jail, Tonya Couch will have to undergo regular drug testing and weekly check-ins. She also has to stay in the Fort Worth home of her other son.

- Violent crime’s up nearly seven percent from 2014 in Dallas. The murder rate rose 17 percent – from 116 killings in 2014 to 136 last year. Still, that’s among the lowest murder rates in Dallas history. However, Dallas Police Chief David Brown yesterday told a city council committee keeping the crime rate down is taking a toll on the Dallas police department. The Dallas Police department spent more than a million dollars in overtime last year on officers responding to 911 calls.
