The top local stories this morning from ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº: The Texas Racing Commission today will again take up the issue of historical racing. Members have to decide whether to amend or repeal rules for replaying already-run races on slot-machine style devices at Texas tracks.
reports key funding for the commission runs out at the end of the month. And state officials have indicated they won’t approve more money if historical racing still exists.
That decision could mean a shutdown of the racing commission and a stop to racing at horse tracks like Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie as soon as next week.
