The stakes are especially high for Texas Senator Ted Cruz. He finished a distant third in this week’s Nevada caucus, and he’s lost two other contests to billionaire businessman Donald Trump.
Cruz led Trump by 8 points in a poll from the . And he’s 14-points ahead of the businessman in a separate poll by the .
However, the two rivals tied in a new poll by . Trump led among North Texans in that poll.
Other Republican candidates will encroach on Cruz’s home turf before Tuesday.
Trump will hold a rally tomorrow at the Fort Worth Convention Center. Florida Senator Marco Rubio will appear at Klyde Warren Park in Dallas. And on Saturday, Ben Carson will appear at a Tea Party Town Hall at the Westin DFW Airport Hotel in Irving.
Early voting for the Texas primary ends tomorrow.
