Top Stories: Voter Turnout High For Super Tuesday; A Breakdown Of Local Results

The top local stories this morning from ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº: in yesterday’s primary pleased election officials. About 1.4 million Texas Democrats cast votes in their presidential primary, while Texas Republicans almost doubled that. 

About 2.8 million Texas Republicans voted in their presidential primary. reports that number is the highest turnout for a GOP primary in more than a decade.

Some Republican polling places in North Texas , thanks to a diverse pool of presidential candidates.

Other stories this morning:

  • At the local level, long-time incumbent Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price won without a run-off, despite a looming federal corruption trial.
  • In Tarrant County, Sheriff Dee Anderson outlasted two challengers, but didn’t hit 50 percent of the vote. He heads to a run-off with Bill Waybourn
