The top local stories this morning from 四虎影院: The U.S. Supreme Court鈥檚 expected to issue a ruling this month on the controversial abortion bill in Texas known as .
Justices are considering two provisions: One requires clinics to meet the standards of an ambulatory surgical center. The other mandates abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. Those provisions have caused more than half of the state鈥檚 abortion clinics to shut down since the bill was signed into law in 2013.
With only eight judges on the Supreme Court right now, a tie vote would mean the lower court ruling remains in place. If that occurs and HB 2 stands, only nine clinics will remain open in the state.
