Top Stories: Fort Worth Approves A New Budget; The Fight For Kratom

Fort Worth's city council met last night to consider the fiscal 2017 budget.

The top local stories this morning from ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº: 

Along with approving a new budget last night, to lower the property tax rate by two cents.

But because property values have increased in Fort Worth, many property owners will likely see higher tax bills -- and the city expects to take in more property tax revenue.

The new budget adds city staffers and more money for street maintenance.

There’s also more money for public safety: 10 new firefighters, 31 new police officers, plus body cameras for all patrol officers and a new police helicopter.
