Testimony on education funding continues today in Austin. are asking state lawmakers to do more to tackle public school funding.

The Texas Supreme Court in May ruled the school finance system as constitutional -- but complicated. Texas House Speaker Joe Straus asked the house committees to study the school finance system and recommend reforms before the Legislature convenes in January.

The state has been giving many districts money to help balance their budgets – it’s called “additional state aid for tax reduction.” That funding is set to disappear next year.
