Texas Standard Wins Three National Awards, Including 'Best Of Show'

Texas Standard, the statewide public radio newsmagazine, has won three , including "best of show" for radio.

The radio documentary "," won best-of-show. The hourlong program featured first-person stories from the survivors of the University of Texas Tower shooting on Aug. 1, 1966.

Texas Standard also won second place for radio newscast, with its Nov. 9 coverage of the . And its coverage of last summer's s won third place for radio breaking news.

, which airs at 10 a.m. on ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº radio, is a co-production of KUT in Austin, ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº, Houston Public Media and Texas Public Radio in San Antonio. It can be heard on 28 frequencies across Texas.

The Headliner Awards are presented annually by the National Headliner Club; they were created in 1934 by the Press Club of Atlantic City. Texas Standard also won two National Headliner Awards last year.
