Four Dallas suburbs ranked in the top 10 best places for people buying their first home in a new analysis by finance website, .
Three hundred cities of varying sizes were compared across three broad but equally weighted categories: affordability, the real estate market and quality of life. Then, analysts broke down those three categories into 23 specific metrics, like cost of living, foreclosure rate and school system.
In order, McKinney, Frisco and Allen took the top three spots on the list. Richardson came in at No. 7. The study also compared the cities among others of similar size. McKinney was the No. 1 medium-sized (150,000 to 300,000 people) city. Frisco and Allen were the No. 1 and No. 2 small (fewer than 150,000 people) city, respectively.
