Top Stories: Fort Worth City Council Will Debate Joining Sanctuary Cities Lawsuit

The passage of Senate Bill 4 during the legislative session has prompted scores of protests and lawsuits.

The top local stories this morning from ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº:

The Fort Worth City Council today  at a work session about whether to join a lawsuit against the state's new sanctuary cities law.

So far, Fort Worth is the largest city in Texas not to do so. The city council won't make a decision today, but it will likely give staff direction on what’s to be done next.

Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio have already joined the suit filed by Maverick County.

  • Meanwhile, the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department and 18 other law enforcement agencies across Texas to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
  • A staffer at Texas Woman's University  That can mean homeless kids, those who were in foster care or the military, or parents raising young children.
