Among the many animals rescued throughout Hurricane Harvey鈥檚 stay in Texas was a frightened hawk that wouldn鈥檛 leave William Bruso鈥檚 taxicab. A video of this unlikely scene went viral.
Bruso cared for the Cooper鈥檚 hawk, appropriately named Harvey, until a member of the Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Coalition transferred him to the professional facility. According to , the rehab center鈥檚 staff 鈥渂elieve he wouldn't have survived the storm without rescue.鈥�
The Houston-based rehab center contacted the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center in Lucas, Texas in Collin County to help with Harvey鈥檚 final steps before release.
Harvey will be released at 1 p.m. at Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve in Plano. Harvey鈥檚 being released far from home 鈥渁s TWRC felt releasing Harvey into damaged habitats in the Houston area would not be in the best interest of the hawk鈥檚 survival,鈥� according to the .
The release will take place in the south parking lot of Oak Point Amphitheater, located at 2801 E. Spring Creek Parkway. [四虎影院]
