Top Stories: Texas Officials React To Deadly Sutherland Springs Shooting

The top local stories this morning from ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº: have offered condolences to the residents of Sutherland Springs after Sunday's . Twenty-six people were killed, and 20 others were hurt.

The shootings have prompted Texas Democrats to call for tighter gun policies.

The gunman identified as Devin Kelley, was discharged on bad conduct from the Air Force three years ago. , those who've been dishonorably discharged from the military are prohibited from purchasing firearms.

But Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton told Sunday Texans can help prevent mass shootings by carrying concealed guns. He also expressed doubt that stricter gun control laws would reduce the frequency of mass shootings.
