Top Stories: Winter Weather Is Back In North Texas; Muslim Service On MLK Day

Another round of cold weather has made its way back to North Texas. The region temperatures dip below freezing, a wintery mix and a chance at some light snow, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

  • On this Martin Luther King Day, our national conversation about race continues. An important piece of that conversation is talking about the role privilege plays in success. , Krys Boyd talked with Ijeoma Oluo, who says that recognizing one's own privilege is a step towards reconciling with those we oppress. 

  • Over 100 Dallas ISD students from 16 different schools participated in Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition . The children what their dream is for today’s world. Wesley Stoker, a fourth grader at Harry C. Withers Elementary, won the competition. We hear from some of the contestants. 

  • A North Texas Muslim charity is handing out care packages to homeless people, and one of many “day of service” activities across the area. .
