The top local stories this morning from ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº: The Texas Transportation Commission will consider the proposed expansion of 635-LBJ at a hearing in Austin.
The I-635 LBJ East Project would improve and widen the interstate from the High Five interchange with U.S. 75 to Interstate 30 in Dallas County. An estimated 200,000 vehicles drive along that stretch of highway each day.
The Commission previously removed the project from consideration from its 10-year plan after state leaders balked.
The 635 expansion includes four managed toll lanes. However, Texas voters twice approved constitutional amendments allowing existing sales, oil and gas taxes to build highways - on the condition that the money cannot go toward tolls.
