A man from Dallas facing a lethal injection Tuesday night is waiting to hear if the U.S. Supreme Court will block his execution.
William Rayford's on death row for killing his ex-girlfriend while already on parole for the death of his estranged wife.
His attorney claims racial prejudice tainted Rayford's sentencing trial and that he was wrongly denied federal funding to further investigate evidence that could have persuaded a jury to give him a lighter sentence.
If the Supreme Court doesn't step in, Rayford would become the nation's second inmate executed this year, both in Texas.
