The top local stories this morning from ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº: U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos has several stops in the Dallas area Thursday.
She'll visit Birdville’s Center for Technology and Advanced Learning and then head to the anti-violence non-profit Urban Specialists.
Other stops include Dade Middle School where the Texas Organizing Project and the Next Generation Action Network will stage a protest this afternoon against DeVos.
reports several Dallas school board members also have voiced their displeasure on social media.
DeVos has drawn criticism for some of her support of charter school expansion and private school vouchers, and for her department scaling back Obama-era Civil Rights protections for students.
