Top Stories: Texas Attorneys Call For An End To Family Separation Policy

A group of Texas-based attorneys have filed an emergency request to try and end the U.S. policy of family separation at the border.

According to the , Thursday's filing to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights is on behalf of five families separated by federal agents in South Texas.

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions last month announced his office was imposing a “zero tolerance” policy on people who enter the country illegally.

The American Civil Liberties Union is also awaiting a decision on a class-action lawsuit seeking an end to family separations at the border.
