Health officials are urging people to take precautions in the extreme heat after Dallas County recorded its of the year.
Both people lived in Dallas, one was 70 years old and the other was 63. There have been 21 triple-digit temperature days in 2018 so far.
鈥淒allas County residents need to be aware of the severity resulting from heat-related illness during high temperatures,鈥� said Ganesh Shivaramaiyer, DCHHS interim director.
鈥淎dults and children need to take measures against heat stress when outdoors. Whether you are working or have a recreational activity, being outdoors for even a short amount of time can cause serious illness.鈥�
