Collin County is mourning Mike Vance, who was just elected Constable this month.
County Judge Chris Hill sent out an explaining that Vance died after a unspecified short illness. Hill told 四虎影院 the illness was not COVID-related.
"Constable-Elect Vance served our community faithfully and honorably for over 30 years," Hill said in a statement. "He spent his career protecting the families in our community, and we are grateful for his life of service. I am personally thankful that I had the opportunity to know Mike as a friend and colleague at Collin County. He will be greatly missed.鈥�
Vance retired from the Collin County Sheriff鈥檚 Office last year after serving 34 years in various roles. He spent 17 years on the SWAT team.
