Flights at Dallas Love Field and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport are delayed Friday because of a telephone issue, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The FAA said a local telephone company has an equipment issue unrelated to the FAA's equipment. The agency says it's working with the company to identify the cause.
As of just after 6 p.m., more than 670 flights leaving and arriving at DFW Airport have been delayed, while 378 flights have been canceled, according to the flight tracker . Flights to DFW are grounded until 10 p.m. and flights to Love Field are grounded until 6:45 p.m.
Departures to DFW are delayed by more than an hour on average, , while departures to Dallas Love Field are delayed 28 minutes on average. Delays at DFW are expected to last through 10 p.m., while delays at Love Field are expected to last until 9 p.m.
