Tarrant County Precinct 2 Commissioner Alisa Simmons has butted heads with County Judge Tim O'Hare frequently. She announced Saturday she wants to run against him.

Dallas County District Judge Amber Givens will face incumbent District Attorney John Creuzot, who's held the position since 2019, in the March Democratic primary.

The Supreme Court has cleared the way for a Texas congressional map that may help the GOP win five more U.S. House seats in the 2026 midterms. A lower court found the map is likely unconstitutional.

Rivas says he wants to ensure all Tarrant County residents are represented, no matter whether they're in urban, suburban or rural areas. He's received around 50 endorsements so far.
