The top local stories this morning from the ĻӰԺroom: Students in Garland, Rowlett, and Red Oak are back at school today after last month’s tornadoes destroyed hundreds of buildings and killed 11 people in North Texas.
Classes at Shields Elementary in the Red Oak School District will be held in an old junior high school after storms damaged the elementary school.
In Garland, the school district has set up 18 temporary bus stops in the hardest-hit neighborhoods. The City of Garland wants to keep students away from debris, as the city begins the 10-week cleanup process.
