The top local stories this morning from 四虎影院: Arlington city officials will hold a press conference this afternoon to announce what they call an 鈥渋mportant economic development.鈥�
Sources tell the the announcement is a new stadium for the Texas Rangers.
The new ballpark would cost an estimated 900 million dollars and be split between the city and the Rangers once AT&T Stadium is paid off. Voter approval would be required to use tax dollars for the ballpark.
The Rangers鈥� lease with their current home, Globe Life Park, expires in 2024. The facility, which opened in 1994, is the 11th oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball.
