Joe Barton’s former chief of staff to run for his congressional seat.
Ron Wright has been the Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector since 2011; he resigned last week. He worked in Barton's office from 2000 to 2011. Wright previously served as an Arlington City Council member and mayor pro-tem.
Five other candidates are vying to replace Barton. The Ennis Republican last week announced he after a nude photo of him went viral and inappropriate messages he sent to a Tea Party activist became public.
